RICE&HEALTH

The area (about 40 Ha.), currently cultivated with rice, is located in a strategic area with respect to the river and the infrastructures of the area.

In accordance with the strategies of the PUC, we want to encourage socio-economic development through the enhancement, implementation and correct management of the natural characteristics and specific infrastructural equipment of the territory, in full compliance with the principles of sustainability.

The conservation of the soil resource, considered as a valid opportunity for socio-economic development, linked not to the buildability of the places, but to their alternative use (tourism, quality of life) is the main objective of the intervention. Agricultural areas are redeveloped, ensuring their protection, identifying limited areas of building completion, exclusively for the purpose of locating functions of public interest, following the principle of non-additionality.

The agro-industrial system is strengthened through concentration on territorial specialties (rice, organic crops, dairy products). It is also proposed, with reference to identity uses in the countryside, to integrate the EQUUS Development Area (Area of Support and Development for Equine Zootechnical Identity Activity) with an integrated zootechnical structure.

In accordance with the PEARS (Energy and Environmental Plan of the Sardinia Region) the intervention will have as its main objective the respect of the new energy performance classes of buildings through technical measures aimed at reducing energy consumption and the use of alternative energy systems.

The intervention thus planned is a new mixed reception – services center within a broad program of parks, sports and leisure facilities.

From hospitality to leisure, from culture to relaxation, from commerce to local crafts, from selected tourism to small services, from conferences to events in the Major Events Area.
