CAMPUS SELARGIUS

A permeable formal approach was studied that considers both the texture drawn

by the agricultural fields, but also open towards the built.

We tried to create a system of buildings that relate to the physical context in a clear and visible way, bringing out the pre-existence and integrating tangibly with the environmental context.

Two architectural artifacts are proposed that, by dialoguing mutually, reveal their role within the compendium. The Training Center (building 02), with its regular and rigorous volume, is linked to the existing buildings of the Campus (Library, Museum Area, Planetarium and Educational Dome) and accentuates its scientific institutional character. The Nursery School (building 01), on the other hand, reflects its playful and attractive essence, standing out with a more eccentric volume in the territory.

For the buildings to be demolished and rebuilt, which will house the InfoPoint (building 03), the Exhibition Centre (building 04) and the Archaeological Laboratory (building 05), a choice of total adherence to the constructions of the past was favored, to root the project in history and the territory.

The arrangement of the external spaces was rationalized to stitch together the intervention already carried out (buildings, paths and parking), the south-west area and the elements of the new intervention. This creates a path that, considering the topography of the place, develops sinuously, avoiding steep slopes and relates to all the points of interest of the Campus.
