LIVADI HOUSE

The building complex extends from southeast to northwest, mainly to protect the communal and private semi-outdoor spaces from the northerly winds, but also to allow the tourist rooms to face the privileged view towards the sea. It consists of two individual volume units that constitute two identical residences, whose main axes from East to West converge towards the side of the view, creating an angle of 8° degrees between them.

Each residence of the complex is a composition of individual volumes, which are connected to each other either by pergolas or by external stairs and longitudinal stone walls in order to create a single architectural ensemble.

Access to the plot is from the south side at an altitude of 48.50m., via a landscaped road of variable width. Parking platforms and small stairs are provided along the road from where visitors are channeled through landscaped levels to the apartments with independent entrances.

The elongated load-bearing walls that define the building volumes mainly in the East-West direction are stone and protrude by parapet height from the final surfaces of the roofs, making their composite dynamics clearer. The remaining load-bearing building structure and the infill masonry are also stone-built according to the static study with the addition of the necessary thermal insulation and waterproofing.
